About The Wellness Way in Englewood, Colorado

We understand that common is not normal, and unlike the restrictive healthcare mentality, we dig deeper to find answers to life-restricting health challenges.

We focus on overcoming the three main causes of interference in the body — trauma, toxins, and thoughts — to go beyond symptom-based care and address your unique physiology in a way that allows your mind and body to find an individualized path back to better health.

We don’t guess, we test; rather than a one-size-fits-all approach, we utilize the most in-depth testing and cutting-edge diagnostic tools to uncover the hidden sources of health problems.

We provide the essential guidance to overcome seemingly insurmountable obstacles through a combination of testing, individual plans, and one-on-one guidance to restore your body to total wellness.

Dr. Jessica Yackley, DC

Dr. Jessica Yackley was born and raised in Davenport, IA. Growing up near Palmer College of Chiropractic, the fountainhead, she always knew Chiropractic to be helpful in addressing physical stress on the body. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Health and Human Physiology from The University of Iowa in 2015, she found herself searching for more than what brought her to school which was the musculoskeletal component of our bodies.

After learning of her mom’s cancer diagnosis, Dr. Jessica spent years researching about cancer and health, and from there developed a passion to understand how our bodies truly work. She quickly realized that traditional healthcare’s approach is a sick-care approach. Dr. Jessica knew there were answers to health challenges that weren’t mainstream and became motivated to find the answers. After exploring all health professions and their approach’s, Dr. Jessica decided to pursue Chiropractic for the belief that the body was created to heal and for a truly holistic approach to health by looking at the body as a whole.

Early on in Chiropractic school, Dr. Jessica was re-connected with The Wellness Way. She had first heard of Dr. Patrick Flynn in early 2018. After re-learning the philosophy and approach The Wellness Way has, she knew that was the approach and thinking that brought her to Chiropractic school. Dr. Jessica started and led the student program at her school and went on to train with The Wellness Way at the Green Bay and Appleton offices before finishing her internship program with The Wellness Way Centennial.

Dr. Jessica graduated from Logan College of Chiropractic in Chesterfield, MO. There she spent the first part of school involved in Functional Medicine. Dr. Jessica has training in Logan Basic, Diversified, Activator, Gonstead, and Myofascial Therapy. She has also had additional training in Functional Medicine and various adjusting techniques including extremity adjusting, Thompson, tonal approaches, and Blair Upper Cervical.

In her free time, she loves to read, hike, travel, camp, and explore nature. She is a follower of Jesus Christ. Dr. Jessica has a dog Toby, who adventures with her, and a nephew she loves to spoil. Her love of learning and growing ensures she will do everything in her power to serve her patients and discover the root cause of their health complaints.

About

Dr. Jacqueline Berens, DC

Dr. Jacqueline loved clinical practice but was driven to find a solution to complex health issues because of her husband, Paul’s health. This drive led her to be introduced to Dr. Patrick Flynn and The Wellness Way. Dr. Jacqueline has a deep passion for helping people find the root cause of their issues to restore their quality of life. She often says, “I love you, but don’t want to see you,” because she knows the body can restore itself when given the opportunity to heal.

Dr. Jacqueline was born in Wichita, Kansas but has lived in Colorado from a young age. Dr. Jacqueline knew she wanted to be a Doctor of Chiropractic since she was fifteen when she injured her elbow as a high-level gymnast. She was unable to do gymnastics for six months while she tried many doctors and therapies to help her injury. Nothing worked, until a teammate suggested trying chiropractic. She was back to gymnastics in two weeks without any pain! From this experience, she knew she wanted to share the same life changing, natural, holistic healthcare with others. Dr. Jacqueline graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a Bachelor’s in Integrative Physiology in 2008, and graduated with top honors, Sum Cum Laude, from Life University with a Doctor of Chiropractic in late 2011.

Dr. Jacqueline enjoys traveling, camping, and anything that involves having fun! She loves spending time with her husband Paul and her children Odinn and Declann.

About Our Events

What is your definition of health? At The Wellness Way, we recognize that most people have been conditioned to believe how modern-day healthcare practices are the experts of restoration and preventative medicine. However, our perception of the way the body functions differs from what is traditionally taught. Therefore, we conduct regular informational events to communicate how we view various systems in the human body. Our take on subjects such as hormones, inflammation, autoimmunity, metabolic syndrome, cancer, thyroid health, etc., strays away from ‘traditional’ aspects. We value our patients’ ability to engage with their healthcare journey, which is why we hope by attending these events they achieve accountability and can take charge of their own bodies for a healthier future."
